FOLIO 01 — THREE ENGAGEMENTS

The Work This Office
Is Equipped to Do

Three fixed-price engagements. Each states in writing what it produces, what is retained, and where its scope ends. Nothing lies outside that statement.

FOLIO 02 — HOW WE WORK

The Methodology Behind Each Engagement

Every engagement at Estara Ledger begins with a handling statement signed by both parties before any work begins. That statement names what will be produced, what working copies will be held during the engagement and what will happen to them at the close, and what questions fall outside this work and must be addressed to a qualified professional.

The methodology is archival in character. Documents are not read for their legal content — they are catalogued, described, and given a physical or digital home. Oral accounts are recorded in the speaker's own words, not paraphrased or summarised. Institutional processes are assessed against published standards, not against an internal rubric.

WHAT EVERY ENGAGEMENT INCLUDES

  • A signed handling statement before work begins
  • A named deliverable at the close of the engagement
  • A clear statement of what lies outside the scope
  • No originals retained beyond the agreed period
  • A referral note for questions requiring a qualified professional

PERSONAL DATA

All personal information collected in the course of an engagement is handled under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. A plain-language data handling summary is provided at the start of every engagement.

FOLIO 03 — SERVICE 01
Blank inventory template and labelled folder set from an orientation appointment

RECORD PANEL

Produced: Blank inventory template, labelled folder set, printed professional directory

Retained: Nothing. All materials delivered to the family.

Outside scope: Document reading, legal questions, valuations, personal circumstances

Records Orientation Appointment

RM 480  ·  TWO HOURS  ·  ONE SESSION

A two-hour appointment for a family beginning to organise a household's papers. Covers what an inventory is, how an index is built, what archival storage generally involves, and how families ordinarily divide the work between them. Educational and organisational. No document is read, and no question about anyone's circumstances is answered.

What the Session Covers

  • What an inventory is and how a family builds one incrementally
  • How an index differs from a simple list, and when each is appropriate
  • What archival storage involves at a general level — materials, containers, environment
  • How families typically divide the organisational work between members
  • A walk-through of the printed directory of professional categories and public bodies

Process Steps

1

Enquiry and brief intake form — family describes what they are holding in general terms

2

Appointment confirmed at the Ipoh office or, where family circumstances require, at an agreed location

3

Two-hour session with the practitioner — educational, no documents reviewed

4

Delivery of template, folder set, and printed directory at the close of the session

Oral History & Provenance Recording

RM 2,150  ·  THREE SESSIONS  ·  FOUR TO SIX WEEKS

A recording engagement across three sessions in which an interviewer sits with an elder family member and records, in their own voice, the history of the household's objects, photographs, and papers. Delivered as edited audio, a full written transcript, and a provenance note attached to each catalogued item. The interviewer records what is said and does not verify, value, or adjudicate any of it.

What Is Recorded

  • The elder's own account of household objects, photographs, and papers
  • Who made each item, who held it before, and what was said about it
  • Family names, dates, and locations as the speaker knows them
  • Any passage may be removed before final delivery — no explanation required

Process Steps

1

Intake conversation to understand the collection — scope agreed in writing

2

Three recording sessions, each 90–120 minutes, at the family's preferred location and pace

3

Editing and transcription — three to four weeks after the final session

4

Draft shared with the family for review — any passage may be removed

5

Final delivery: edited audio file, full transcript, and provenance notes per catalogued item
